Flying LXVIII 1969, 1989, 1999 and 2009 28/6 -09

Tonight’s show ended the years with the figure 9 for this time. The Beatles started with ”Come Together” from the album Abbey Road, released in 1969. I also played four other songs from that album. Two of them ”Something” and ”Here Comes The Sun” written and performed by George Harrison. And a song ”Octopu’s Garden”, written and performed by Ringo Starr.

Paul McCartney released albums both in 1989 and in 1999.  I played songs from both those albums tonight.

Pink Floyd released a dubble album in 1969 called Ummagumma. One of those was a studio album, and the other was live. I played songs from both of them.

Creedence Clearwater Revival released three albums in 1969. I have played songs from the first one Bayoo Country two weeks ago. Tonight I played songs from the other two, Green River and Willy And The Poor Boys.

Agnetha Fältskog, one of the female singers in ABBA later on, released her second solo album in Swedish in 1969. She sang three songs from that album called Volume 2.

Benny Andersson, one of the male members of ABBA, released his second solo album after the break up. That album was called November 1989. It had almost just instrumental tracks. I played two of them tonight.

The Beach Boys released albums both in 1969, 1979 and 1989. Tonight I played songs from -69 and -89. I stopped tonight’s show with the song ”Kokomo” from the movie Cocktail with Tom Cruise.

Queen gave us two songs from their album The Miracle released in 1989. In one of them, ”The Invisible Man”, the four members of Queen were presented.

Eric Stewart, 10cc released his latest album this year in January called Viva La Difference. I played the opening track, ”Gnome Sweet Gnomes”. That track has a video now that can be seen on Youtube.

Finally I played a song by the group Wax from their album A Hundred Thousand In Fresh Notes, released in 1989.

Next week I will play songs from the years ending with the figure 0.
